Even though we only have a few days left at Wake Forest there’s still aFellows lot going on! Tomorrow the fellows will be presenting their civic engagement projects to the entire institute. Everyone has been working incredibly hard for their presentations and the staff couldn’t be more eager to hear of everyone’s successes.Tomorrow evening the Fellows will also enjoy one of the most memorable moments of the BFTF institute: the Farewell Banquet.Twenty-seven days ago each Fellow arrived alone in a sense - not knowing any of their peers. By the time the Farewell Banquet occurs everything has changed. Strangers have become the best of friends and have built connections that will continue for years to come. More than 30 fellows performed in the Multicultural Show. The show was a great success and kept the residents of Salemtowne fully entertained.

A variety of talents were showcased:

- A beautiful mermaid-dance by fellows Narine, Ana, Noémie and Hillary.
- A Russian song with Violetta on both guitar and vocals.
- A captivating Maya Angelou poem reading by Morgan.
- An H.C. Andersen fairy tale read by Rosa and Vanessa and enacted by Snæfríður, Rytis, Mads and Karoline.
- An instrumental on the piano by Hillary.
- The dance of the penguin starring most of the fellows, led by Daniel.
- The show was hosted by Victoryia and Rytis.

This morning was quite busy in Collins dorm.  The fellows returned and will remain in the dorm until they depart this Friday. Last week they got an opportunity to experience life as part of an American family. Fellows definitely became a part of the family despite only spending a week with their host parents and many lifelong connections were made. Some host parents were so used to their new kids that they didn’t want them to leave. They went camping, hiking, fishing and visited parks, lakes and oceans. (more…)
