The 2nd Youth Understanding Politics (YUP) is being hosted in by 2008 BFTF alumni in Belgium August 2-12. They are hosting 36 youngsters from 6 different countries (Belgium, Germany, Moldova, Slovenia, Romania and Ukraine) are meeting in to inspire these participants through intercultural dialogue, debate, and conflict-resolution to initiate positive change in their communities. Youth Understanding Politics is a summer exchange program that unites 35 participants from 6 different countries (Germany, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Belgium and Slovenia). It is aimed for 15 to 18 year old students who are willing to learn about debate and politics. In 2010 there is a mentor from each participating country involved, as well as a mentor from Macedonia. The project takes place in Brussels, Belgium.This project is funded by the European Commission program Youth in Action and the Slovene and Belgium US embassies in the amount of approximately 22 000 euro. The program is implemented in cooperation with JEF and Europe Direct.
