The Youth Understanding Politics (YUP) is a summer exchange program (facilitated by JEF) designed to inspire these participants through intercultural dialogue, debate, and conflict-resolution workshops to become more civically and politically active and to initiate positive change in their communities.
The program aims to create an atmosphere that facilitates a free exchange of ideas and cross-cultural understanding. Participants will have the unique opportunity to meet, live with, and cooperate with other youngsters coming from different cultural backgrounds. Country presentations, cultural trips and other activities designed to raise awareness about prejudices will be emphasized in the program.
This year’s program features two workshops:
Youth Understanding Politics 2010, a summer exchange program, in Belgium from the 2nd to 12th August 2010
Minorities – First Priorities, an advanced summer program, in Slovenia from the 25th July 2010 to 1st August 2010
