The Ben Franklin Transatlantic Initiative is pleased to announce the availability of BFTF support for Alumni follow-on projects.
Starting January 1 2008, the Ben Franklin Initiative will accept applications from alumni of the BFTF Summer Institute (2006 and 2007 Founders & Diplomats) to fund a select number of follow-on projects. The BFTF Initiative is able to award grants from $100 to a maximum of $500.00 per successful proposal. All interested alumni are invited to fill-out the Application Form and submit it to the addresses indicated on the form.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to be as detailed as possible in the description of proposed projects, project rationale, goals, appropriate budget, evaluation means, as well as specific time-line for project implementation. The ‘grant guidelines’ also require that proposed projects benefit applicant’s home community/school in some significant way (you can’t just have an ice-cream party with your friends).
The project assessment will look at the overall feasibility of proposed projects. Prospective applicants are therefore advised to submit proposals that are clearly manageable considering the resources (human and financial) available to the applicant. The BFTF team further encourages prospective applicants to find partner agencies to support the cost (both personnel and financial) of implementing their proposed projects. The reviewing team will pay special attention to proposals that require the least money and secure external funding to augment the BFTF grant.
